Taking Care Of Your Latex Garments

ALL GARMENTS ARE SHIPPED MATTE WITH A TALCY COVERING

When your garment arrives it will appear matte and have a talcy covering, this is to finish the garment, seal the glue, and is the best way to send out items as they will be folded in the post.
You may choose to wear your latex/rubber like non-shiny, but if you want to shine up your latex (as it is in our pictures), you can use a silicone polish or spray. The silicone polish is easy to use, and best applied with a lint free cloth. It is easier to polish clothing flat. The spray is best applied as the garment is worn.

KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT AND DAYLIGHT, ESPECIALLY DIRECT SUNLIGHT

Store on a plastic or wooden garment hanger inside a garment bag (ideally made of black polythene plastic), in a dark and cool wardrobe.

DO NOT STORE LIGHT COLORED LATEX WITH STRONGER COLORS

Stronger colours may stain lighter ones.

DO NOT BRING IN CONTACT WITH COPPER-BASED OR NICKEL-BASED METALS

Latex might stain or get otherwise damaged from contact with metals. Keep away from all metals and metallic products, especially copper-based products such as bronzing agent make ups, hangers, jewelry, body jewelry, and money coins.

AVOID CONTACT WITH ALL OILS

Oils may permanently stain or otherwise damage latex so keep away from greasy fingers, baby oil, oil-based moisturizers and bronzing agent make ups.

WE RECOMMEND USING TALCUM POWDER OR SILICON BASED LUBRICANT INSIDE ALL LATEX CLOTHING BEFORE USE

Forcing it on without aid may cause the fabric to rip (lube is better for transparent latex and tighter fitting garments)

TO MAKE RUBBER SHINY, WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF SILICON SPRAY OR SILICON BASED LUBRICANT

TAKE EXTRA CARE WHEN WEARING PRINTED LATEX

As with all printed fabrics it is possible that the print on some printed latex may ‘wear’, this is more common where the garment is rubbing against itself or other garments (e.g. under armpits, jackets, handbags, …).

WE RECOMMEND RE-TALCING THE GARMENT AFTER USE

This will dry clean the garment and prevent a moist garment from sticking to itself when stored. Never store while moist as the fabric might stick to itself and subsequently rip when being unpeeled.

HANDWASH ONLY. DO NOT PUT IN A WASHING MACHINE. DO NOT DRY CLEAN. DO NOT USE SOAP POWDER

You can handwash your garments, using lukewarm water with a teaspoon of mild washing up liquid detergent. Wash for 5 minutes, then rinse carefully and hang up to drip dry on a non-metallic hanger. Do not expose to bright sunlight. Once dry, separate any layers which are stuck together, and sprinkle talcum powder over the garment. This will prevent surfaces from sticking together.
